TradeMark MD Helps Unveil Latest Wokingham Regeneration Plans

Mark Ashwell, Managing Director of TradeMark Windows and local councillor has together with fellow executive member for regeneration and communities Cllr Philip Mirfin showcased phase two of proposed plans to regenerate Wokingham Town Centre.

The first phase of the project has already been completed and saw much-needed improvements made to several buildings in Market Place and Rose Street.

If given the green light by the Council’s Planning Committee, who are coincidentally due to consider the planning application tomorrow, phase two will see the redevelopment of Peach Place in 2016, a thorough proposal put together following a lengthy public consultation.

It will involve the demolition of some existing buildings which will then be transformed into brand new retail units and apartments, amongst other things, to help Wokingham thrive in the future.

Plans to redevelop other parts of the town such as Elms Field and the Carnival Pool leisure hub are currently at the consultation stage and will be until 6th March.

Should this be given the go-ahead then the intention is to have all the regeneration completed by early 2018.

The public’s response to the various proposals has been largely positive as the town prepares to welcome an estimated 10,000 new residents over the next few years.
