How To Make Your Home The Cosiest Place To Be This Christmas
Just in time for Christmas, the weather has bitten hard and left us reliant on our homes to provide us with cosiness and comfort.
Some of this cosiness can come from your Christmas decorations and not just your heating system, a warming drink of mulled wine or a pair of fleecy festive pyjamas.
Let us explain how…
Go full-on festive with your fireplace
Your tree will already be up (or at least it should be!) and a big centrepiece of your living space, but why not also make your fireplace a huge focal point indoors too?
It will be after you’ve taken a wreath and attached it to the wall that’s right above it – you’ll see that wreaths are not just made for front doors.
For the mantle, cover it with some foliage (garland) and have a message of ‘Merry Xmas’ or ‘Let it Snow’ spelt out in neon lights on it. Then, no-one will be able to miss it.

Revert to fairy lights for a low glow
And we’re not just talking about conventionally hanging up fairy lights. No, put them inside any used glass jars or wine bottles that you have in the house.
To feed fairy lights into a wine bottle, you will need to drill a hole large enough in the base of it or take the easier option and just buy some bottles and jars with fairy lights already in them.
They can be placed in your windows on shelves etc. and if they’re battery-powered, they won’t add to your energy bills.

Put past-Christmas photos on display
So many memories are made at Christmas, a time that should be full of joy and happiness. Do you have any photos of Christmases as a kid or more recent festive occasions with loved ones?
Rather than have them out of view in old photo albums, pick some of your favourites and have them printed onto baubles, added to snow globes and make a festive artwork out of them for displaying on a wall.
Each time you catch a glimpse of them, it’ll give you the cosiest feeling inside.

Cosiness can also emerge from the warmth provided by your windows and doors. If you don’t feel enough of it, you need to invest in energy efficient windows and doors from TradeMark. Receive a quote for them.
