Get Your Windows And Doors Halloween-Ready With Our Fang-Tastic Tips

Spooktacular decorations for your home

Before we jump into a countdown for Christmas, it’s important to remember that there is something more immediate coming up: Halloween.

With the days getting consistently shorter and the weather taking a turn for the worst, a little celebration of the spookiest day of the year could be just what’s needed to brighten up even the gloomiest of October days.

Get ready to embrace your dark side with some simple decor to go around your windows and doors.

Decorate with an autumnal wreath

Unlike some specifically Halloween decor, autumn decor is decidedly more sophisticated and stylish. An on-trend piece for autumn that works for Halloween is a wreath which reflects the stunning colours of the foliage.

If you are craving more of a spooky spin, you can purchase (or create your own) wreaths with pumpkins, spiders and bats.

Create a spooky entrance

Even if you are still understandably undecided about pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkins are a must for Halloween decorations. You can pick up pumpkins of all sizes at a pumpkin patch or local supermarket.

Enjoy an evening of carving faces into the pumpkins and then displaying them proudly along your entrance. Remember to place small flameless candles in the pumpkins on the big night so they will be lit up for an evening of trick-or-treaters.

Halloween is the perfect representation of light-hearted fun and yet still manages to be dark and creepy. Comical doormats with Halloween puns are the perfect way of channelling both aspects of this unique occasion.

Add lights around windows

Lights are an underrated piece of Halloween decor. Hang multi-coloured string lights around windows in red, orange and green. The lights will give the house an unnerving luminosity, which is perfect for Halloween.

Make the most of the cosiness of the season by filling mason jars with fairy lights on window sills. Check out Netflix’s scary movie offerings, enjoy some Pinterest-inspired Halloween snacks, and get ready for the 31st of October.
