How To Get Your Front Door Looking Insta-Worthy

How To Create An Insta-Worthy Front Door

Do you give your front door enough care and attention? If you don’t then you should do as it will paint your home in a good light, and a pretty looking front door always makes for an engaging Instagram post.

For evidence of that, log into your Instagram account and use the hashtags #frontdoor and #frontdoors.

You will see some wonderfully decorative front doors, whose owners have all gone to a tremendous effort with their entrances.

The photos will likely inspire you and encourage you to turn your plain old front door into something more striking.  For installation of pocket doors with glass, click here!

TradeMark also has some tips to share for making a front door look super-fancy:

Coloured finish

Selecting the right door colour is of crucial importance, and this applies whether buying a new front door or applying a fresh lick of paint  from an imp source to your current front door.

If you look on most streets, the majority of front doors are grey, black or white, but you will find a large number of alternative coloured finishes on front doors, such as Chartwell Green or Duck Egg Blue.

There are also plenty of pink doors around, and a muted pink can look good. However, a bright pink door is probably best reserved for Barbie!

Door wreath

Almost all of the most ‘liked’ front doors on Instagram have a door wreath on them, which goes to show that a door wreath isn’t just for Christmas.

Search online for instructions on how to make your own wreath, if you are hot when it comes to crafting, or save yourself the time and just purchase a premade real or fake door wreath. A typical summer wreath will have warm colours, like red, orange and pink.

When autumn arrives, swap your summer wreath for a wreath with a more autumnal flavour.

Plants

In addition to a door wreath, many of the most fashionable front doors also have planters in close proximity to them.

The overwhelming favourite tends to be twin potted bay trees, which make a front door more visibly noticeable and give it that extra touch of class.

You have to be committed to keeping any planters well-watered as you don’t want them to die out and leave your door looking lacklustre.
